Each initiative supported must aim to generate a real, measurable, and lasting positive impact, while strengthening trust in our organization.
ESG – Social (S) Pillar
This program is part of our ESG approach, specifically within the Social (S) pillar. It structures how SANEXEN supports the communities where we operate, through transparent criteria, a fair process, and monitoring of community outcomes.

Special consideration is given to projects led by our employees that benefit the communities where SANEXEN operates.
Selection, Monitoring, and Transparency
All supported initiatives are subject to a selection process. Follow-up may be required to assess outcomes, document learnings, and ensure ongoing alignment with our mission and values. As part of an ESG (S) approach, this information may be used to document the program’s impacts and to improve it year over year.
Selection criteria considered:

- alignment with our priorities;
- expected impacts and project credibility;
- transparency in the use of funds;
- capacity to deliver and provide follow-up;
- absence of conflicts of interest (e.g., ongoing tendering, contract award, or decision-making processes).
Forms of Engagement
Our contribution may take different forms: donations, sponsorships, volunteer involvement, knowledge sharing, or the provision of resources.

- Donation: financial or material support provided without commercial consideration.
- Sponsorship: support provided with associated benefits (visibility, presence, activation, etc.).
Note: For any sponsorship or partnership request, a visibility plan may be required (depending on the nature of the request).
Eligibility
Applications must come from:
-
• Non-profit organizations (NPOs), foundations, and recognized community organizations;
• Public institutions (e.g., municipalities, educational institutions, research centers) or structured initiatives led by such institutions;
• Private companies: considered only within the context of *existing partnerships with SANEXEN (or one of its divisions / joint ventures).Applications must include a budget, a timeline, and the expected outcomes.
Note: An existing partnership refers to a documented, active relationship with SANEXEN (e.g., an agreement, recurring collaboration, or an ongoing partnership).
Exclusions
No donations or sponsorships will be granted in the following cases:

organizations that have already received support during the same calendar year (except where exceptions apply within established partnerships);

requests from religious or political organizations;
-
labor unions;
-
personal in memoriam donations;
-
individual requests;
-
fundraising activities lacking transparency;
-
requests associated with an ongoing tendering, contract award, or decision-making process (actual or perceived conflict of interest).

Application Timeline (Two Annual Cycles)
Applications must be submitted during one of two annual cycles to ensure a rigorous evaluation process and an equitable distribution of support.
Important: applications must be submitted during one of the two annual cycles and at least 60 days before the scheduled date of the project or activity. It is the applicant’s responsibility to consider the evaluation timelines to ensure their project can be reviewed in time.
1st Cycle
- January 1 to May 30: application submission period
- June 1: evaluation
- Decision communicated no later than July 1
2nd Cycle
- August 1 to November 30: application submission period
- Starting December 1: evaluation
- Decision communicated no later than December 20

The granting of support remains solely at the organization’s discretion. SANEXEN may accept or refuse any request, even if it meets the criteria and deadlines.
