Sanexen is looking for a Superintendent/Foreman for its environmental projects. The incumbent will be based at our Rivière-des-Prairies offices.

Job description

The incumbent is responsible for the direct management of all site activities for assigned projects at SANEXEN. This critical role ensures that work is completed safely, on time and on budget. You will represent SANEXEN in a professional manner, embodying our values of ingenuity, entrepreneurial spirit, integrity and collaboration. You will need to foster a problem-solving work environment to effectively manage the variability and complex challenges of our work sites.

  • Health and Safety: Read, understand and apply SANEXEN’s health and safety program. Ensure that safety is integrated into every activity and disseminate relevant information to the team and subcontractors.
  • Project Management: Read and interpret scope of work, control estimates and customer contracts. Report any changes, requests for additional work or contract modifications to the Project Manager.
  • Operational planning: Participate in the development of site-specific work plans and schedules, and communicate this information to the field team.
  • Execution and Quality: Implement work plans and continually audit their effectiveness against technical specifications to guarantee the quality of completed work.
  • Progress Tracking: Provide daily updates to the project manager and keep the production schedule up to date.
  • Subcontractor Management: Review and understand project-related subcontracts to ensure proper execution in the field.

Sought Profile

  • Education: High School or Professional Diploma (DES or DEP), or equivalent.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a foreman or superintendent role.
  • Technical skills: Ability to interpret and read engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Software: Intermediate computer skills (MS Office: Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Mandatory certifications: Health and Safety Construction site certificate (ASP Construction)
  • Personal skills: Team player, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), self-motivated and highly organized.
  • Working conditions: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Availability for variable hours (evenings, weekends, holidays) and for travel to remote sites according to project needs.

Assets

  • Education: Degree or training in environment, civil engineering or construction.
  • Sector expertise: Previous experience in the environmental, civil or construction industry.
  • Heavy equipment: Experience in the safe operation of heavy equipment.
  • Versatility: Any equivalent combination of education and experience to achieve the required knowledge and skills.

Proficiency in French and English:
