APG, a division of Sanexen, is seeking a Projet Manager for its Acheson offices.

Job Description

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the project team, as well as subcontractors and suppliers, in accordance with awarded contracts. They ensure compliance with contractual, legal, regulatory, and APG requirements while tracking progress through performance indicators and maintaining clear communication. The role involves updating the Director on key milestones, issues, improvements, contract changes, and overall status. Responsibilities include preparing deliverables, applying risk management, EHS, and quality processes, overseeing financial monitoring and project closure, and ensuring accurate document control. The position requires eight years of project management experience in environmental, mining, or construction sectors, a relevant engineering degree or technical diploma, availability to travel in Canada and the U.S., strong communication and leadership skills, knowledge of HSE and quality standards, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • Coordinate the project team designated by the Business Unit management, and coordinate subcontractors/suppliers in accordance with the contracts awarded for the project.
  • Deliver the project based on the objectives established by the Director at project initiation, in alignment with contractual, legal, regulatory, and Sanexen-specific requirements.
  • Monitor project progress according to performance indicators to intervene and make timely decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure effective communication among all project team members, ensuring each individual is informed of the elements relevant to their responsibilities.
  • Keep the Director informed of project progress by reporting on milestone achievements, issues encountered, areas for improvement, contract adjustments, and any other relevant developments.
  • Contribute to the preparation of required project deliverables.
  • Implement and ensure compliance with risk management, EHS management, and quality management processes by all team members for the duration of the project.
  • Carry out and apply the monthly financial monitoring and closing process, present the results to the Director, and, when required, propose the necessary adjustments to meet project objectives.
  • Ensure all project-related documentation is maintained and stored in accordance with established document control rules.
  • Collaborate to APG bidding processes.

Sought Profile

  • Minimum of 8 years of project management experience in the environmental, mining, or construction sectors
  • University degree or technical diploma in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or a related field
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various worksites across Canada and the United States
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and team management skills
  • Solid knowledge of health and safety, environmental, and quality standards
