APG, a division of SANEXEN, is seeking a Residual Analysis Technician  for its Stony Plain, Alberta offices.

Job Description

Reporting to the Project Management team, the Residual Analysis Technician serves as the essential link between field operations and technical analysis. You will be responsible for visiting potential sites across Canada and the United States to perform biosolids sampling, conduct technical testing, and support the bidding process. The ideal candidate combines scientific rigor with physical stamina and a high degree of autonomy.

  • Field Operations & Sampling:
    • Conduct site visits to collect biosolids samples from lagoons, lakes, or digesters.
    • Navigate water bodies using light watercraft to access sampling zones.
    • Manage the transport and handling of equipment and samples from various sites.
  • Technical Analysis & Laboratory Work:
    • Perform laboratory analysis on collected samples (polymer testing, biosolids analysis).
    • Interpret technical data to support project recommendations.
  • Sales Support & Tendering:
    • Actively participate in technical analysis during the request for proposals (RFP) process.
    • Evaluate the technical feasibility of projects at potential sites.
    • Represent the APG brand professionally and reliably when interacting with clients.
  • Logistics & Travel:
    • Manage a travel schedule averaging 6 to 12 days per month.
    • Be available for travel at short notice (1 to 3 days’ notice) within Canada and the United States.

Sought Profile

  • Education:
    • College Diploma in Civil Engineering, Water Treatment Technology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Candidate Profile:
    • Highly autonomous individual with the ability to work independently in field conditions, demonstrating exemplary professionalism, and analytical rigor.
  • Mobility:
    • Legally authorized to travel between Canada and the United States.

Assets

  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong technical and chemical background, including the understanding of water and soil treatment processes).
  • Physical Aptitude:
    • Ability to lift, push, or pull loads ranging from 50 to 100 lbs, including equipment, boats, and samples, in a physically demanding work environment.
    • Comfortable working on the water, including navigating boats on lagoons or lakes.
