Sanexen is seeking a Process or Chemical Engineer for its Brossard offices.
Job Description
As part of our growth across Canada, we are looking to strengthen our engineering department to provide structured technical support to project teams and business lines. We are currently seeking a Process or Chemical Engineer to join the team.
Main responsibilities
- Identify and select treatment technologies in collaboration with project teams to meet technical requirements for tenders and projects, while considering contractual, commercial, cost, schedule, resource, risk, and quality factors.
- Perform detailed design, modeling, and sizing of treatment processes (physical, chemical, or biological) for industrial and mining wastewater, contaminated soil, and air.
- Conduct sizing and calculations for detailed engineering, including pressure drop, chemical resistance, mechanical strength, automation, control, mass balance, heat balance, and more.
- Participate in the development of process diagrams, plans, P&IDs, and detailed engineering for the issuance of “Issued for Construction” (IFC) drawings.
- Select and specify process equipment for in-house construction or specialized subcontractors/suppliers.
- Plan, structure, and collaborate on the transfer of engineering to project and operational teams responsible for construction, mobilization, commissioning, and operation of technologies and assets.
- Plan, supervise, and analyze laboratory or pilot tests, perform data analysis for system/process efficiency, and write technical reports.
- Join a multidisciplinary team as a technical reference in chemical and/or process engineering, ensuring technical quality, consistency of engineering solutions, and the development of internal expertise.
- Collaborate as a technical expert on specific mandates related to major environmental projects across Canada.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of engineering methods, procedures, standards, and practices, including change management and risk analysis, with an emphasis on HAZOP.
- Maintain a high level of competence through continuous training and mentoring while developing distinctive technical expertise.
Qualifications required
Sought Profile
- 4 to 10 years of relevant experience in chemical engineering, process engineering, or industrial water treatment.
- University degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or equivalent.
- Solid mastery of process engineering principles applied to complex problem-solving with a practical, solution-oriented approach.
- Eligible for membership or current member of the Ordre des ingénieurs (or equivalent in another province).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ease with process design and calculation tools.
- Excellent command of French (oral and written).
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
Assets
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- ASP Construction certification.
